Can I get a maybe on a arcane adaptation reprint in ikoria? (I think that standard jank players benefit from it immensely)

Arcane Adaptation Query

New 21 Feb 2020 Asked by machinepriestexemplar 26 Comments

Unquestion: If I use Arcane Adaptation & choose the "Die" creature type, do all my creatures become dice that I now must roll for to decide P/T, or is it just the "typeline" that is modified?

Being the Die creature type doesn’t inherently make you a die. Pippa’s first ability turns the dice you roll into a Die creature token.

Walls and Defender

Hi Mark, simple question, all walls have defender? If I cast Arcane Adaptation choosing walls all my now wall cretures will be unable to attack?

No, Walls don’t inherently have defender. (They did long ago, but that rule was changed.) Turning something into a wall doesn’t give it defender.

Tribal Effects Limits

Do you think we could ever see a Conspiracy/Arcane Adaptation style effect that changes the creature type of your opponent's creatures? Asking for an unhallowed friend.

We’ve cut down on tribal effects that affect the opponent, so it’s possible, but not super likely in the near future.

Mary O'Kill Combo

New 26 Nov 2017 Asked by thewormbo-blog 42 Comments

Is Arcane Adaptation or Conspiracy naming Killbot really as busted with Mary O'Kill as I think it is? (i.e. could I reveal Mary from my hand to "Ninjutsu" an unblocked Invisible Stalker into Emrakul, The Eons Torn, because both are Killbots?)

Mary has to be on the battlefield to switch two things that aren’t her, but other than that, yes, Conspiracy + Mary O’ Kill works.
