Aisling Leprechaun

Leprechaun Creature Type Correction

New 13 Dec 2020 Asked by arandomstringofcharacters 34 Comments

"Ouphe if a few, but if enough, we’d talk about Leprechaun." FYI, Aisling Leprechaun has gone back to being a Faerie, as it was printed. (Unlike Shelkin Brownie, which is printed as a Faerie, but in Gatherer as an Ouphe.)

Thanks. I forgot it got changed to Faerie.

top 3 cards for your St Patrick's themed deck... GO!

Well, there’s only one Leprechaun… Aisling Leprechaun from Legends. Sylvan Paradise, also from Legends, turns any number of creatures green. And As Luck Would Have It from Unstable has a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow.

Leprechaun Classification

Aisling Leprechaun was always a Faerie.

Classifying a Leprechaun as creature type Faerie doesn’t make it creatively not a Leprechaun.

Actually Aisling Leprechaun is a Faerie now :(

It’s still creatively a Leprechaun.

Looking for a St. Patrick’s themed Magic card? How about Aisling Leprechaun from Legends, the only (non-Changeling, non-Mistform Ultimus) Leprechaun.

Will we ever see “Leprechaun” as a creature type?

Aisling Leprechaun, from Legends, is so far the only leprechaun in Magic and has the creature type faerie.

Missing Leprechauns

Why aren't there anymore leprechauns? Even if leprechauns were restrained to the "faerie" creature type, why hasn't there been more than just Aisling Leprechaun (especially in Lorwyn)?
