Is it Nicol Bolas' hubris that forces the sets where his evil plans come to fruition (Conflux, Hour of Devastation) to include a card named after the evil plan?

Hmmm…

Naming 'Tragic Arrogance'

Was there a point during design where 'Tragic Arrogance' was called 'Hubris'?

Journey Into Nyx had a card called Hubris. The card was originally called Kytheon’s Hubris.

Gideon's Story Appreciation

I just finished Gideon's story mode on Magic Duels. Watching his hubris, nemesis and first planeswalk play out in CG video form was just fantastic! High fives all around!

I’ll high-five when back in the office. I’m glad you enjoyed it.

Mark, I'm sitting in my basement because of this storm and can't help but wonder: Why did you make a card as strong as Storm Crow?

Hubris.

Prerelease Humor

New 26 Apr 2014 Asked by moreorlessarobot 47 Comments

Can you hi-five everyone involved with the new set? The prerelease may have given me my favorite game LOSS story of all time. I always appreciated the Greek elements of the block; I thought they were cool, but I never expected them to be game relevant. During the prerelease I... I died to my own Hubris. That was one of the funniest experiences of my life, thank you.

: ) Life lessons, Magic-style.
