Spelling Bee Rules

New 23 Aug 2023 Asked by themartiangeek 28 Comments

Do artist names count for Spelling Bee?

No. From the FAQ: “The player looking at the top card of your library can choose any word from the card’s name, type line, or text box. Notably, they can’t choose a word that’s only in the artwork or artist credit. It doesn’t have to be a real word from a dictionary; Astroquarium is a perfectly cromulent word, for example.”

Homemade Stickers Size

You've said that players are free to make their own "stickers" out of paper if they don't have sticker sheets. For Astroquarium and Juggletron how much good faith effort is required to match the size of the official stickers?Even just making them square has kind of a big impact on Astroquarium. It's very fiddly to match the size and shape exactly if you don't have the sheet handy.

Those two cards are the ones who really need the stickers as they’re about the size of the stickers mattering.

Astroquarium Crack Covering

Can you cover the cracks on Astroquarium with non-art stickers?

You can, although you still have to pay ticket costs for ability and power/toughness stickers. Note that Juggletron refers to objects juggled, so they have to be art stickers.
