Oracle en-Vec

Legendary Status Update

Oracle En-Vec always stood out to me as a Legendary "that could have been", as it is a very story important character. How likely will we see in the future a errata where certain creatures that really should be Legendary (including Nephilim cough cough) being redone so? I think it would be easy-ish with a simple reprinting of some of them in a package much like Gideon's spellbook, giving them also a foiling if need be and MAYBE alternative art.

Note that the story was referring to the current Oracle en-Vec, but it was a role filled by many individuals over time.

Italics in Card Titles

Any chance to see another card with an italicized name, Like Sarpadian Empires, Vol. VII? Or was it a one-time stunt to use a flavor text as card title?

In Tempest block, we visited the plane of Rath. There were three kinds of creatures, the Kor, the Vec and the Dal. If you belonged to one of them and were accepted by the group you were “en-” that group (for example the Oracle en-Vec). If you were ostracized by then, you were “il-” that group (for example Vhati il-Dal). The “en-” and “il-” were always italicized, even in card titles.

Oracle en-Vec Query

Why Oracle en-Vec was not a Legend?

mandramas is asking about a card from the set Tempest (my first lead design and the one where I was very involved with the story). The reason is that the Oracle en-Vec was not a person but a position. When one died, a new person (usually a woman I believe) would take the role.
