Serum Powder

Game Start Effects Risk

New 30 Jan 2019 Asked by tbjanowski 45 Comments

Is there difficulty in adding new before the start of the game effects like serum powder? I am asking due to the new Sphinx scrying on your first upkeep.

It’s dangerous space to play around with as there are no answers if we mess up.

Pre-Game Cards Design

New 04 Nov 2018 Asked by tbjanowski 23 Comments

How difficult to create are cards that take place before the game like the leylines, or serum powder? And is there more design space available there?

They are very hard to make. There’s not much design space there.

Sparse OOG References

Why don't you make more cards that make reference to out-of-game elements like Serum Powder or the wishes?

Some seasonings are best used sparingly.

Game Start Effects

How do you feel about the cards that have effects right when the game begins/before the game begins, like the Chancellors, Leylines, Gemstone Caverns and Serum Powder?

We need to do them in moderation because they are very dangerous.

Pre-Game Decision Cards

New 19 Aug 2012 Asked by soulflame-blog 2 Comments

Serum Powder and Gemstone Caverns are both unique as they care about things decided before the game (mulliganing and who goes first). Is there a chance we'll see more cards that care about either of those decisions?

Neither of those cards ending up being very popular so while I doubt we’ll never do it again, we’re not in all that much a rush.

Serum Powder Reception

How well was Serum Powder received? What are the chances of seeing more cards with the word "mulligan" in their text box?

I would not call Serum Powder a rousing success. It got a little notice and generated some talk but it was not something that begs for more to follow in its wake.
