Lord of the Unreal

Future Illusion Support

Hey Mark, I first started playing mtg with Core 2011, but didn't really get into it until Core 2012. I loved the illusions in m12, and the flavor mechanic where if they were targeted they (vanished) were sacrificed, along with their lord of the unreal. It was the first mtg deck I ever made, and I still have it today. But 12 years later illusions are... Basically no different than they were over a decade ago. There have been very few illusions since then, and even the lord has never left m12. I know it's probably tough to do outside of a core set, but will we ever see more illusion support?

I assume eventually.

Iconic Creature Illusions

For blue's iconic creature, why not try Illusions? They already had a bit of a resurgence a couple years back with Lord of the Unreal and Jace's decks in Duels of the Planeswalkers.

We like illusions and keep making them but having you’re iconic always look completely different is not ideal.

Illusion Tribe Future

I really enjoyed the Illusion mini-tribe in M12, led by Lord of the Unreal. Do you think we could have some more members of the tribe or support for him and his friends some time soon?

I strongly doubt we’ve seen the last of the illusions.

Merfolk Balance

You keep getting messages stating that Blue CC lords make merfolk too good. Personally, I think it makes more sense to say that they do a fantastic job of evening the playing field. Being blue, merfolk aren't exactly the most hardy of creatures. Master of the Pearl Trident is a way to make them seem more viable. They should also take the Phantasmal creatures from M12 into consideration. They're great, semi-cheap cards, but without Lord of the Unreal, they're sitting ducks. Would you agree?

I do agree.
