Why do you guys do functional reprints? (Ex: arc lightning vs flames of the firebrand?)

Usually it’s a flavor issue. Sometimes, we want to allow more copies in older/larger formats.

Planeswalker Story Representation

so you said that we won't get planeswalkers cards for every planeswalker in the story of a block and I definitely understand why, but will we at least be getting cards that depict that PW and/or thematically make sense with them? for example, not having a Chandra PW card, but having flames of the firebrand and Chandra's fury, or something like that?

The planeswalkers in the story will be definitely be featured on cards regardless of if they get a planeswalker card.
